ABOUT ME
Victoria Handbury-Madin (MCIOF)

Thank you for visiting my website! I am a Charity Consultant based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire with over 15 years’ experience in the third sector. I am an Individual Member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (MCIOF).
I began working in the not-for-profit sector after completing my undergraduate and master's degrees (both at the University of St. Andrews). I have had a variety of roles, working for and with, both national and international charities and small and large organisations, including Barnardo's, Build It International and The Movement Centre, where I was CEO. I have also worked as a freelancer and consultant for over 7 years. It is wonderful to work with so many organisations and play a role in helping them become more sustainable and increase their impact.
In 2019 I co-founded the Shropshire Charity Network, and I am one of the organisers, on a voluntary basis. The bi-monthly events, which are free to attend, are a fantastic platform for individuals in the charity sector working in Shropshire to get together and share ideas and challenges.
As a Charity Consultant I work closely with charities to support with strategic development, governance, fundraising and through the set-up process.
I work at a strategic level. I enjoy focusing on the details and how they fit in with the bigger picture. I am also very comfortable stepping away from behind the computer. I love meeting with people face to face. I am a keen networker and enjoy speaking publicly. I am never afraid to get stuck in, having been known to shake a bucket at Waterloo Station in fancy dress or walk down Oxford Street dressed as a charity mascot!
I would love to hear from you. Every relationship I have with a charity is different, so if there is anything you think I may be able to help with, please do get in touch.
