SHROPSHIRE CHARITY NETWORK

All our events are free and are currently are taking place virtually.

Our next session will take place on Thursday 26th May 2022 at 9.30am.

Our are delighted that our speaker for this session will be Wayne Flynn, Director at Mr. Flynn Creative, who will be presenting on Brand Clarity and Consistency. Your brand is about far more than your logo. It’s your identity and how people recognise and experience your organisation. Wayne will be talking to us about how to ensure your brand runs through your whole organisation with clarity and consistency.

Wayne Flynn is an award-winning designer who specialises in website design and branding, working with business, education, and charity clients from start-ups to international.

We are excited that we will also be joined by Selina Graham, the High Sheriff of Shropshire 2022, who will be talking about the role and her aspirations for the year.

About the group

The group holds free and informal quarterly meetings for people in Shropshire working within the charity sector and those keen to support not-for-profits in the county.

I co-founded the Shropshire Charity Networking Group with Clair Moelwyn-Williams in 2019. We were keen to set up a group that gives people a platform to make new connections within the charity sector in Shropshire.  When I moved back to Shropshire, from London, one thing I missed was having access to large network of support, both from a large team and from the many sector specific events that took place. I found that many people in Shropshire either work for small-medium sized charities or work remotely for national or international charities and often lack the support networks that are available in larger cities.

The events give attendees the opportunity to discuss the potential to signpost service users to other organisations locally; to share ideas and discuss challenges; to offer support and advice to others in the sector and to explore the opportunity for collaborative working. We have a presenter at each session and have covered topics such as Social Media for Charities, HR and staff wellbeing, Fundraising and the Impact of Covid-19 and Trustee Recruitment and Retention.

I thoroughly enjoy running the events with Clair Moelwyn-Williams, a Partner at TCA Accountants, who specialises in working with charities and Emma Croall who is a Fundraising Consultant. Under normal circumstances the events are held at The Peach Tree in Shrewsbury but are taking place via Zoom currently.

We have been delighted with the response and it has been fantastic to make so many new connections.
