SHROPSHIRE CHARITY NETWORKING GROUP
In 2019 I co-founded The Shropshire Charity Networking Group.
Please note our events are currently on hold but we are looking at ways to meet virtually.
The group holds free and informal quarterly meetings for people in Shropshire working within the charity sector and those keen to support not-for-profits in the county.
We were keen to set up a group that gives people a platform to make new connections within the charity sector in Shropshire. When I moved back to Shropshire, from London, one thing I missed was having access to large network of support, both from a large team and from the many sector specific events that took place. I found that many people in Shropshire either work for small-medium sized charities or work remotely for national or international charities and often lack the support networks that are available in larger cities.
The events give attendees the opportunity to discuss the potential to signpost service users to other organisations locally; to share ideas and discuss challenges; to offer support and advice to others in the sector and to explore the opportunity for collaborative working. We have a presenter at each session and have covered topics such as Social Media for Charities and Trustee Recruitment and Retention.
I thoroughly enjoy running the events with Clair Moelwyn-Williams, a Partner at TCA Accountants, who specialises in working with charities. The events are kindly administered Jayne Emery, Office Manager at TCA Accountants. They are held quarterly at The Peach Tree in Shrewsbury. We have been delighted with the response and it has been fantastic to make so many new connections.
We would love for you to join us!
